Welcome to today's post! Share it with a friend today!
First, some interesting news about USA Today, which came out with its watchlist of the top Girls HS Lacrosse Player of the year, and SEVEN of the 50 are from our state! We’ll post it later today, but here’s the 7:
Ryann Frechette – Bartram Trail
Sienna Casella – St Stephen’s
Kali Cleary – Gulf Coast
Zoe Horwitz – AH-Plantation
Izzy Hughes – Lake Highland
Taylor McGovern – Stoneman Douglas
Susan Lowther – Riverview-Sarasota
Of course, we could find some more as there’s none from AH-Delray, but what the heck, we’ll take it!

Many of you have seen the Merrimack-Albany story by now. They played over the weekend and later in the game tempers got out of control and a Merrimack player used a slur towards an Albany Native American player. The Merrimack player has been removed from the team and I have to admit that the first thing that crossed my mind was that I hoped it wasn’t one of the 3 Florida kids on the Merrimack roster. Based on what I read, it isn’t.
This sport is by nature a physical one and trash talking is unfortunately a bigger part of sports in general than I care for. I just don’t understand, in this time of history, how a college kid is not aware of what is out-of-bounds with word usage.
Know how to avoid doing something stupid? If you must trash talk, make the comments about the score/game, not the individual. It’s less likely to blow up in your face. Or just hold your tongue and let the performance do your talking for you . . .
