After three weekends away in the last four, I took a few days to relax, and there’s been a lot of content coming out to cover, so let’s chip away at it.

The FHSAA released its recommendations on NIL, and I copied and pasted the proposed language from the FHSAA Manua that is online currently at the FHSAA website.  Check out the article on the FLN website for details.  The Florida Board of Education will vote on whether to accept the FHSAA recommendations, which will put them into action if passed.

The response to my rant against the complaints of the Northeast Lax Mafia have been little, which is how an ostrich would react.  That’s okay, the story is not finished yet, as I am now researching the efforts made to market the event in the Cary/Durham/Raleigh/Chapel Hill area prior to the event.  I’ve reached out to local media outlets and are just getting revved up on that.  I have already heard back from one of the head coaches, who confirmed she was not asked to do any local media interviews prior to the event (I do not count the Zoom call on Monday, since that was more for the journalists like me than a mass-market attempt to sell tickets).  Florida resident response has been fully supportive so far.

Raleigh does have an ESPN-affiliated radio station, but they haven’t responded to my inquiry yet.  I’m still in the early stages of data gathering on this, and I’m not going away on the issue.

I’ll be linking to the IL story on their website about the NCAA Rules Committee recommendations, which didn’t end up as drastic as the items posed at the IMLCA Coaches Convention.  The focus is on faceoff adjustments and video review, so click on the link when I put it up to IL for the details.
