What an interesting day it is for Florida high school lacrosse. While most of the schools in Florida are on some sort of Spring Break, there are THREE huge games on what is a combined 35 games scheduled for Boys and Girls combined.

The Girls have 11 games on tap, and without the two out-of-state games, the top game to monitor is Community School hosting Riverview-Sarasota. The Boys have 24 games, among them Gulliver hosting Belen Jesuit, Oxbridge hosting Columbus, AJP hosting AH-Plantation and Jupiter hosting Fletcher. That last game is intriguing as Fletcher is testing itself against a southern blue blood program.

But look what is on the docket down here in the Southeast:

Benjamin hosting McDonogh

Saint Andrew’s hosting Boys’ Latin MD

St Thomas hosting Gilman MD

This is arguably the GREATEST COLLECTION of games played in one area in the state’s HISTORY.

If you are in the area, get to one of them. For broadcasting, I would guess SA-BL is on YT. Benjamin also broadcasts on YouTube, while St Thomas is on NFHS.

By Tuesday late night, we might be looking at a game-changing night in Florida lacrosse, or another close call as we drive for Hot Bed status.

Last night, we had:

Saint Andrew’s Girls hosting Germantown (PA)

AH-Delray Girls hosts St Paul’s MD

The Girls equivalent of tonight’s Big 3.

Saint Andrew’s took the 13-6 win over the Pennsylvania power.

AH-Delray fell 8-6 to St Paul’s. the #2 ranked team in America in the latest Q-Collar Inside Lacrosse Girls national poll. AH-Delray came into the game ranked #15 in that same poll.

Q-Collar Girls National High School Rankings: We're Just Getting Started, by Emily Considine - Article LINK

It will be very interesting to see how Emily ranks AH-Delray this week. You would hope she gives them a boost up the ranks after this given the recent history of AH-Delray’s out-of-state games against the best competition. As for the FHSAA MaxPreps system . . . hopefully they won’t fall 20 slots for the loss . . . LOL.

Florida fans, we are knocking on the door. Get out and support the kids, no matter where they are in the power rankings. You are witnessing the ascension of a great story.
